Dokes, Oakie![]()
![]() From the Expanded UniverseA swoon-worthy beauty and firstborn daughter of a wealthy schinga breeding family on Makem Te, Oakie Dokes had so many more gifts than physical attractiveness. Her Dam sent her off-planet to represent their ranch in the annual Coruscant Livestock Exchange and Exhibition. On metropolitan Coruscant, Oakie Dokes got in way over her head as her vanity led to out-of-control spending. She emptied the family savings accounts purchasing troves of precious gems to implant into her body.Destitute, Dokes fled to the back alleys. She knew her parents would be so disappointed in her that they would probably not even eat her themselves. In the gutters, Oakie Dokes realized she was endowed with a priceless talent: she could transmute her feelings of loneliness into powerful art. Using similarly run-down dregs from the Coruscant alleys as both her canvas and her paints, the penniless damsel became a notable underground artist of macabre and unsettling art. Her successes saw her clawing her way up the social ladder of Coruscant, eventually reaching the strata that housed the Outlander Club in Coruscant's gaudy Uscru entertainment district. The gallant Republic judicial officer named Dannl Faytonni and his associate, Achk Med-Beq, approached Dokes, interested in sponsoring her future artistic endeavors. Despite Faytonni's charm, Oakie was initially suspicious -- after all, "mutual opportunity business partners" in Basic sounds uncannily like a Swokes Swokes word for "suckers." But she trusted her heart. Oakie Dokes left the Outlander that evening with two new friends and, potentially, artistic subjects. She wasn't totally without reserves either: pawned, the jewels embedded in her flesh would fetch a pretty price. She had some interesting ideas about a composition of dismembered extremities draped in tattered Republic uniforms, but she just needed to wait until inspiration bit.
