When Captain Rex and members of the Ghost crew found themselves the target of an Imperial assault at an abandoned Clone Wars-era base, they used a Sheathipede-class shuttle to escape. While devoid of weapons, the transport proved effective, and Kanan saw potential in the craft as the Phantom’s successor. Thus, the Phantom II was born.
