It would be a difficult task to determine who was the most gruesome of Jabba the Hutt's henchmen, though Hermi Odle was definitely a contender. He was a large, upright tuberous being with greasy gray skin, and a puffy face with drooling lips and drooping eyes.
From the Expanded Universe
Hermi Odle worked as a weapons specialist, helping craft the defenses of Jabba's palace. He spent most of his life on Tatooine after his ship was shot out of orbit by an Imperial patrol. He impressed Jabba with his weapons-crafting skills.
Odle had one major nemesis in the palace: Pote Snitkin, a Skrilling gun-runner and skiff pilot. The competition escalated as Snitkin sabotaged one of Odle's weapons, resulting in the death of a prized pet of Jabba's. During the confusion of battle over the Pit of Carkoon, Odle fired a stun weapon from the sail barge, knocking Snitkin unconscious. Snitkin was unable to move away from the exploding sail barge, and thus perished.
The Baragwin did escape the combat zone, eventually making it back to Mos Eisley. There he stole a starcraft of Jabba's, and left the desert planet. His current whereabouts are unknown.
Behind the Scenes
Hermi Odle was a full-body creature suit worn by a puppeteer on set. Like several aliens crafted by the
Return of the Jedi Creature Shop, Odle's name appears to be a play on words, a phonetic respelling of "Hear Me Yodel."
