Fema Baab served in the Galactic Senate during the final days of the Republic. She was one of the many loyalist Senators who enthusiastically greeted the returning Chancellor Palpatine following his liberation from Separatist capture during the Battle of Coruscant.
From the Expanded Universe
A relatively young and inexperienced Senator from the Bajic sector, Fema Baab is one of Chancellor Palpatine's most loyal supporters. In the name of diplomacy and bridging partisan gaps, she attempted to work with Senators Bail Organa, Mon Mothma and other known critics of Palpatine's Chancellery. She never managed to fully insinuate herself into such circles, as some believed her to be a spy for the Chancellor.
Behind the Scenes
During pre-production, before many of the ancillary characters of Episode III were given proper names, the designs of Fema Baab were simply identified as "Female Senator." This became the basis of her name. She was played by Olive Levi in the film.
