The Gian speeder is a repulsorlift vehicle used by Naboo's volunteer security force for crowd control and urban defense. It is a heavier design than the sleek Flash speeder. The open-air canopy seats four soldiers. Flanking the sides of the craft are standard laser cannons. Modified models come equipped with a hood-mounted laser cannon capable of penetrating the armor of a Trade Federation battle tank. During the Trade Federation invasion of Naboo, the resistance groups organized by Captain Panaka and Queen Amidala employed Flash and Gian speeders to infiltrate the besieged city of Theed.
