Throughout their long, strife-torn history, the Nikto people of Kintan have been plagued by cults and secret societies bent on bloodshed and violence. Time and again the Cult of M'dweshuu, fanatic followers of a doomsday prophecy, has risen to power on Kintan, only to be put down either by Jedi Knights or the governing Hutts.
One of the lesser-known secret societies is the Morgukai, long thought to be extinct by the final years of the Galactic Republic. Despite their violent ways, the Morgukai had a strong code of honor.
The disciplines and weaponry of the Morgukai made them a threat even to seasoned Jedi. Morgukai mental exercises strengthened their resistance to Jedi manipulation, and some were known to brandish weaponry and armor made of cortosis ore, a substance capable of deflecting and dissolving a lightsaber blade.
The shady Devaronian grifter, Vilmarh Grahrk, hired a pair of Morgukai warriors named Tsyr and Bok in the years preceding the Clone Wars.
