This July, Adult Swim's
Robot Chicken travels back to a galaxy far, far away to release the second, all-new
Star Wars-themed special to DVD with the release of
Robot Chicken: Star Wars Episode II. Arriving at retail stores on July 21, 2009 for the suggested retail price of $19.97, this release includes a special extended edition with 15 minutes of brand-new footage and over 90 minutes of bonus features. The highly anticipated sequel combines the satirical sensibilities of Seth Green and Matthew Senreich's (Stoopid Monkey Productions) Emmy-winning
Robot Chicken with the unforgettable moments and favorite characters of the
Star Wars universe. Winner of three Annie Awards including Best Animated Television Production,
Robot Chicken: Star Wars Episode II premiered at #1 on Adult Swim with over 1.5 million viewers.

Robot Chicken.
Robot Chicken: Star Wars Episode II is created and executive produced by Green and Senreich under their own Stoopid Monkey Productions, in conjunction with Alex Bulkley and Corey Campodonico's ShadowMachine Films. Green and Senreich also executive produce, write and direct the series, with Green providing many of the voices in the special and the series. The special was directed by Green and written by Green, Senreich, series head writers Tom Root and Douglas Goldstein, series scribes Mike Fasolo, Kevin Shinick, Zeb Wells and frequent guest writers Breckin Meyer, Hugh Davidson and Dan Milano, who all won this year's Annie Award for best writing for this special.
The DVD features original Star Wars lead actress Carrie Fisher reprising her role as Princess Leia, Billy Dee Williams as Lando Calrissian and Ahmed Best returns as Jar Jar Binks in an Annie Award-winning performance. Seth MacFarlane portrays Emperor Palpatine, Breckin Meyer is Admiral Ackbar and Boba Fett, Green is Ponda Baba and many other characters, Conan O'Brien is Zuckuss and Donald Faison and Andy Richter are all part of the all-star Robot Chicken: Star Wars Episode II cast.
Featuring many of the beloved Star Wars characters from the first special, while adding additional fan favorites: Bossk, IG-88, Zuckuss, 4-LOM, Dengar and others as they set off on their quest to capture Han Solo. Viewers will be reunited with Emperor Palpatine as he gets the idea to place an ad for bounty hunters from his barber. Gary the Stormtrooper has to suffer through Take Your Daughter to Work Day, not so easy when your boss is Darth Vader. You will understand why Anakin should never babysit the young Jedi-in-training. Once again, the Robot Chicken crew takes a twisted look at all six Star Wars films, from both the popular moments and the obscure and hilarity ensues.
