It seems like we were just loading out the show in Nashville a few hours ago as the exhibit crew and I walked down the street along the River Liffey and into the O2 arena in Dublin. Hard to believe that was almost three months ago!
Maybe it's because during the break, I couldn't seem to escape Star Wars in any shape or form. On the flight home from the last show of the first leg, a small child in a Clone Wars shirt was making blaster noises in the seat in front of me; on my drive home from the airport, NPR made a comment about Vader; and while relaxing at my family's house over the holidays, Jon Stewart made more than three Star Wars references in a week. I know I'm not alone in my love of Star Wars, but it reminded me that Star Wars really is forever and more importantly, everywhere.
This week, Star Wars: In Concert kicked off the European leg of its world tour in Dublin. As we got ready to start the first show in Dublin and the video crew was scrambling to make some last minute tweaks, I suddenly noticed something -- the 501st helping us today were talking funny. We had Irish stormtroopers! The 501st's Emerald Garrison reminded me once more that Star Wars is truly global.
No matter what country we are in, we're having a lot of fun being globe-trotting, jet-setting, Vader-loving ambassadors of Star Wars, and we hope to see you in your corner of the world soon!
