Looking for something to do with your action figures and in the mood to wear a funky, Star Wars-themed headpiece? Don’t be a silent sufferer. Take action. Follow these simple steps to make your very own gilded, stylish and ever-so-practical Star Wars headband.
All you need is:
- Star Wars action figure (or any other Star Wars toy)
- Gold spray paint
- Plastic headband
- Hot glue gun and sticks
- Additional embellishments, such as craft balls.
For my headband, I used an action figure of one of my favorite villains — General Grievous. I positioned him in a kneeling pose, which looks both hardcore and stable when on top of your noggin. To create the illusion of a planetary surface, I also glued a couple of craft balls of various sizes around Grievous.
Once the glue is dry, take your headband outside and spray it gold. Be sure to use proper safety precautions when using spray paint.
Immediately after its paint job, the headband will smell stinky, but look ravishing.
Now it’s time to wear your groovy, gold, galactic headband around town. Whether it’s adorned with a droid, a Jedi, or a Gungan, it is sure to become your favorite new accessory. Just ask my fellow ILMer and headpiece model, Rebecca!
Enjoy, and may the force be with you…on your head.
