Lucasfilm and Google+ Communities: Better Together, Life Is

gcomm

Everyone has a Star Wars story (or two, or three…), and for good reason: like family reunions and Sunday service, the iconic film saga inspires people to come together. When my family moved across the country, for example, it was my Star Wars action figures that helped me feel at home and make new friends. And in high school, my senior class took turns standing and sleeping in line for Phantom Menace.

These days I work on Google+, and we too aspire to bring people together in meaningful ways. You can imagine my excitement, then (Yub Nub!), when I heard Lucasfilm wanted to cultivate a Star Wars community on Google. Today I’m thrilled to make it official.

Just this morning we launched Google+ Communities — basically a gathering place for all the stuff you’re into (including Star Wars!). With live video calls, built-in event planning, and plenty more, we’re trying to make it easier to meet people who share your interests: the wonderful, the weird, and yes, even the things that are waaay out there.

Regardless which community you call home, I sincerely hope you find the droids you’re looking for.
