The scouts at StarWarsShop.com have secured another exclusive for U.S. collectors. Coming next spring are several desert stormtroopers vinyl figure kits from Kotobukiya in Japan. Distinguishing these troopers are the color-coded rank pauldrons that they wear over their shoulders.
While the orange-coded sandtrooper already has a Stateside distributor, StarWarsShop.com will be the only U.S. source for the black-coded sandtrooper corporal and the white-coded sandtrooper sergeant. Each is limited to 500 units, and has on its packaging a StarWarsShop.com exclusive sticker indicating this edition size and exclusivity.
In Japan, the corporal will be available through Toys R Us with a limited run of 1,000, featuring a Toys R Us sticker on packaging. The stormtrooper sergeant will be available in Japan through Hobbyshop Kotobukiya -- www.kotobukiya.co.jp -- in a limited edition of 1,000.
Collectors who get all three sandtroopers can swap weaponry and body parts from each trooper, increasing the number of poses available for the figure. The sandtrooper corporal and sandtrooper sergeant are available for pre-order now at StarWarsShop.com. Their estimated ship date is March 2005.
