The Star Wars saga begins and ends with Anakin Skywalker, the Chosen One, as C-3PO and R2-D2 explain in a brand new introduction to the FOX airing of The Phantom Menace on May 9.

Luke Skywalker has tasked Threepio and Artoo to record the complete saga of the Skywalker family, and television audiences can see the results in a new series of Star Wars: Connections introductions starring Anthony Daniels.

This new introduction recounts Anakin's rise from a slave child on Tatooine, to a Podracing champ, to the Chosen One of Jedi prophecy. See his evolution from the young boy played by Jake Lloyd to the intense young man played by Hayden Christensen. This segment compiles clips from Episodes I, IV, V and VI, and includes early glimpses of next week's Attack of the Clones.

The précis on Anakin continues to the classic trilogy, where he is known as Darth Vader, Dark Lord of the Sith. His efforts to crush the Rebellion threatening the Empire are told through clips from A New Hope, The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi.
