Got a friend you need to contact, but aren't up on your Force telepathy skills? Need a regular fix of
Star Wars to perk up your day? Cingular's new line of
Star Wars mobile phones now allows you to bring a bit of
Star Wars with you wherever you go! With a colorful cast of characters lined up to announce your incoming calls, you'll never feel too far from your favorite faraway galaxy again.
From C-3PO's cordial "Excuse me for interrupting, but you have an incoming transmission" to Grievous' more direct "Answer this infernal device before I split you in two", there is clearly something for every Star Wars fan in this exciting new series of themed ringtones. Cingular has even secured two of the original voice actors to recreate their character roles through custom dialog.
"Anthony Daniels (C-3PO) and Matthew Wood (General Grievous) were both very happy to reprise their roles for the Original Voice Ringers," says Cingular senior marketing manager Denni Brueggemann. "Tom Kane, who voiced Yoda in both volumes of the Clone Wars cartoon series, provided the voice of Yoda. Darth Vader was performed by Scott Lawrence, who has voiced Darth Vader for numerous LucasArts video games. All actors involved were great to work with and gave wonderful performances."
With 39 custom ringtones performed by four memorable Star Wars characters, the saga has never been closer. Actually, it's just a phone call away.
Check out the following new Star Wars ringtones scripted exclusively for Cingular's Revenge of the Sith promotion!
C-3PO
"Excuse me for interrupting, but you have an incoming transmission."
"I am fluent in over six million forms of communication, but this particular code is unfamiliar to me. It could be an Imperial transmission."
"Well, don't blame me, I didn't tell them to call you."
"Pardon me... might I suggest that you answer your phone?"
"The odds of this caller being someone you want to speak with are approximately 3,720 to 1."
"I must say, your mobile device is much more cooperative than R2-D2. Perhaps it should become my new counterpart?"
"Your comlink seems to desperately want your attention (pathetic), but I do suggest you answer it."
"I don't know where your comlink learned to communicate, but it has a very primitive dialect. I believe it is telling me that you have a call."
"Hello. I am C-3PO, human cyborg relations, and this is my new counterpart your mobile device...."
"I do suggest you pick up this urgent transmission... or we're doomed!"
Darth Vader
"The Emperor is sending a transmission. You would be wise to answer quickly."
"The dark side of the Force is calling to you...."
"Answer your call or you will feel the wrath of the dark side."
"Prepare yourself for the Revenge of the Sith."
"Your caller has interrupted me for the last time. I will deal with them myself."
"Answer your phone. It is your destiny!"
"The dark side of the Force is strong with this caller."
"Answer the call of the dark side. It is useless to resist!"
"I find these constant interruptions disturbing." <Motti choking SFX>
"I feel a tremor in the Force emanating from this device. Use it, and your journey toward the dark side will be complete."
General Grievous
"This call has disturbed my rest. You will suffer for this outrage!"
"Ah, Lord Sidious calls. Bow your head; show some respect!"
"Answer this infernal device before I split you in two!"
"I trust you have taken the necessary precautions to ensure your transmission is not being monitored by the Republic. Well...?!"
"I look forward to adding your caller's lightsaber to my collection."
"This caller is a bold one. I will deal with them myself."
"Your caller should be thankful that they have not found themselves in my grip!"
"Another recruit for the Separatist army is calling. Count Dooku will be pleased."
"A true warrior is prepared at all times. A true warrior does not mindlessly jabber into his comlink at all hours."
"Ah gooood, we are intercepting an incoming Republic transmission. Prepare to trace it and attack!"
Yoda
"Through the Force you should communicate, not with this crude device."
"An incoming call you have. Answer it quickly, you should."
"More training in the Force you need, if your mobile device must ring before you answer it."
"Sleeping, are you? Why do you need this device to pester you so, before you answer it?"
"Beware, I sense that the dark side is calling you."
"A Jedi uses the Force for knowledge and defense, never for answering a call."
"Concentrate. Feel the Force flowing through you. Only then will you know who is calling."
"A disturbance in the Force, I sense. Emanating from this device, it is."
"Ring, ring, ring... all the time this device is ringing. Disturbing to meditation, this device is. Concentrate more on the Force, you should."
