Star Wars: Episode VIII The Last Jedi
DATABANK: THE LAST JEDI //
To navigate the maze of Canto Bight’s streets, the resort city’s police rely on GB-134 repulsorcraft, known informally as jet-sticks. Officers direct them by leaning one way or another, accelerating and braking with hand-held throttles and foot pedals. Their cannons are generally set for stun, but can be dialed up to lethal intensity.
Homing beacons are sophisticated yet compact devices that transmit a hyperwave signal which can be detected thousands of light-years away. Knowing that the Resistance will soon be on the move, Leia Organa gives Rey a cloaked transmitter bracelet, keeping its mate on her own wrist. This will allow Rey to locate the Resistance fleet once she finds Luke Skywalker.
A hotshot Abednedo pilot, C’ai Threnalli flies as Poe Dameron’s wingman during the D’Qar evacuation, although he is hard-pressed to keep up with Poe’s turbocharged starfighter. Assigned to the Raddus, C’ai is left grounded after the destruction of the cruiser’s starfighter hangar. Like Poe, he has doubts about Vice Admiral Holdo’s leadership.
Edrison Peavey commands the Star Destroyer Finalizer, which requires him to take orders from General Hux. Peavey has little respect for Hux, whom he regards as an arrogant schemer with a poor grasp of tactics. But as a veteran of the Empire, Peavey respects the chain of command and keeps his opinions to himself.
Hailing from Pippip 3, young Lieutenant Tallissan Lintra is one of the Resistance’s best pilots, impressing even Poe Dameron with her flying skills. Tallie leads a hastily assembled squadron of A-wings and X-wings above D’Qar, protecting the Resistance’s vulnerable bombers on their attack run against a First Order Siege Dreadnought.
