On November 21, 2000, Mexico joins Canada and the United States in the re-release of the classic Star Wars trilogy on VHS videocassette. Lucasfilm Ltd. and Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment are releasing the three classic films around the world.

Mexico will be releasing La Guerra de las Galaxias, El Imperio Contraataca, and el Regreso del Jedi in both subtitled and dubbed versions. The boxed sets will also include the exclusive ten-minute sneak peek at the making of Episode II.
