Paizo Publishing is reprinting the science fiction novel The Reavers of Skaith, by Leigh Brackett. Brackett helped George Lucas in the initial story development of The Empire Strikes Back, and she brought with her an impressive list of screenwriting work, such as scripts for The Big Sleep, Rio Bravo and The Long Goodbye.

She pass away two years before Empire was released, but her contribution to the saga was recognized with the co-screenwriter credit she received for Episode V. For this reason alone, her science fiction novels and short stories deserve a look from Star Wars fans, though many remain hard to find. Paizo, however, is reprinting The Reavers of Skaith from 1976, with a new introduction by George Lucas. Visit Paizo's Blog here for more information, and their product site here to order a copy.
