Summer 2007 Comics
March 12, 2007

Here's a look ahead at some of the titles Dark Horse Comics has planned for the summer months of 2007.

[ Summer 2007 Comics ] Darth Krayt, the ruthless and unwavering Sith Emperor, knows that to achieve order, sometimes one must first create chaos. With the galaxy nearly in his grasp, Krayt tires of deposed Emperor Roan Fel's opposition of the Sith. He decrees that this alliance of Imperials loyal to Fel must be broken. Once scattered, Krayt has little doubt his weakened opponents will surrender to his ultimate command. To achieve this end, Krayt has devised a unique mission for a minion of atypical loyalty -- Darth Kruhl -- who is not only willing to kill, but ready to die.

Star Wars: Legacy #13, "Ready to Die" is due out on June 13, and features the talents of John Ostrander, Colin Wilson, Brad Anderson and a cover by Jan Duursema.

[ Summer 2007 Comics ] On a seemingly unremarkable backwater planet edging ever closer to civil war, Rebel spy Wyl Tarson has an explosive dilemma. He and his newly assembled team of agents -- a squad previously deemed by the Alliance to be too deadly, too unpredictable, and too burnt-out to serve -- must follow the dangerous and contradictory directions of the criminal overlord, Raze, or face exposure and execution at Imperial hands. If that weren't enough, an incendiary device planted deep within Wyl's skull counts down, ticking off the last moments of his life should he try to make a break. Given the choice between betrayal and treason, Wyl's next move could be his last!

Star Wars: Rebellion #7, the second part of the five-part "The Ahakista Gambit" storyline, is by Rob Williams, Michael Lacombe, Wil Glass and has cover art by Ryan Sook. It is scheduled for release on June 20.

[ Summer 2007 Comics ] The galaxy-shaking secret Camper kept hidden within his addled mind for decades is revealed in this conclusion to the "Nights of Anger" story arc! Big changes are in store for the Old Republic and it begins here!

Aboard the Arkanian Legacy, flagship of the corporation Adascorp, the elderly Camper and his young protector Jarael are separated by closed doors, each worrying about the fate of the other. Jarael worries a cure might not be found for the grave illness she brought Camper here to treat. Camper's concern, however, rests on the realization that their benefactor Lord Adasca has a terrible plan underfoot -- one that will put Jarael, himself, and the entire galaxy in great danger.

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic #18 is by John Jackson Miller, Harvey Tolibao, Michael Atiyeh and has cover art by Colin Wilson. It is scheduled for release on June 27.

Catch up with the newly emerged Galactic Empire in the collected volume of issues #1-4 of Star Wars: The Dark Times. Jedi Dass Jennir and his companion Bomo Greenbark survived the Clone Wars, but the fate of Bomo's wife and daughter remains a mystery. The two friends are determined to find them, but their path leads them from danger to darkness -- where each of them stands to lose more than they may hope to gain. Meanwhile, Darth Vader must deal with some unpleasant realities -- and memories -- of his own. Though he is a Dark Lord of the Sith, even he must bow before the power of the Emperor. Star Wars: Dark Times Volume 1 -- The Path to Nowhere is by Welles Hartley, Mick Harrison and Douglas Wheatley. This trade paperback collection is scheduled for release on August 15.

[ Summer 2007 Comics ] The first in a series of manga-sized graphic novels that will adapt both the prequel and original Star Wars trilogies, The Phantom Menace Photo Comic is the perfect way to relive the magic of the movie anywhere you go! From Qui-Gon Jinn's portentous discovery of Anakin Skywalker to Obi-Wan Kenobi's fateful final battle with Darth Maul, all the adventure of this landmark Star Wars event is captured exactly as it originally appeared on the silver screen. This 96-page digest is due out on August 29.

Each month sees the release of a 30th Anniversary commemorative limited-edition hardcover of the best of Dark Horse's Star Wars graphic novels. Available only through Direct Market retail outlets, each volume's print run is limited to initial orders.

Witness the untold stories of the Jedi who took a last stand against Emperor Palpatine in the moments during, and immediately after, the events in Revenge of the Sith! Quinlan Vos wages a battle of impossible odds against his own troops to protect his loved ones, Jedi Master Kai Huddora takes a terrified Padawan into his charge after her own master falls to Order 66, Dass Jennir finds himself in league with a band of rebels he'd led attacks against only days before, and a brave few Jedi will plot to topple Sith rule -- by setting a trap for the newly unveiled Darth Vader! Star Wars: 30th Anniversary Volume 6: Endgame features the works of John Ostrander, Welles Hartley, Jan Duursema, Douglas Wheatley, Dan Parson, Brad Anderson, Chris Chuckry and a cover by Adam Hughes. It is set for release on August 29.
