UK readers will soon have a wealth of Star Wars facts at their fingertips with the publication of two impressive reference works courtesy of Titan Books.

First up, April sees the arrival of The Complete Star Wars Encyclopedia. The massive three-book hardcover set comes in an impressive box-set slipcase and is fully illustrated in color throughout -- over 1,200 pages of Star Wars lore researched from over three decades of Star Wars storytelling. It is written by Steve Sansweet, Pablo Hidalgo, Bob Vitas, Daniel Wallace, Chris Cassidy, Mary Franklin and Josh Kushins.

In August 2009, Star Wars: The Essential Atlas will take readers on a galaxy-spanning journey through the known systems of a galaxy far, far away... Written by Daniel Wallace and Jason Fry, it is the first book to map the entire Star Wars galaxy, and this full color Atlas is divided into three comprehensive sections:

  • The Political Galaxy - including sections on the Core Worlds, the Galaxy's Population and Client States of the Empire
  • Planets of the Galaxy
  • The Atlas of Galactic History - with chapters on Before the Republic, Ancient Mysteries of the Galaxy, The Mandalorian Wars and The Hydian Way.

The Essential Atlas features individual star maps as well as a master map of the entire galaxy, and incorporates information from every incarnation of Star Wars storytelling.

In North America, these books are published by Del Rey Books.
