May 27, 2004

[ 2004 Star Wars Weekends Picture Viewer ] Why are Mickey and Minnie posing as Luke and Leia? There could be only one reason -- to excite fans for Star Wars Weekends, the Star Wars fan-fest held at Disney-MGM Studios in Florida celebrating the heroes, villains and droids of the saga. Beginning May 14, 2004 and continuing for five consecutive weekends, festivities will center around the famous Star Tours thrill ride and feature Star Wars celebrities who will take part in meet-and-greet sessions and Hollywood-style motorcades.

Celebrities and activities include:

Star Wars Celebrities: Peter Mayhew (Chewbacca), Anthony Daniels (C-3PO), Jeremy Bulloch (Boba Fett), Daniel Logan (Episode II's young Boba Fett), Jake Lloyd (Episode I's young Anakin Skywalker), Warwick Davis (Wicket the Ewok), and Andy Secombe (voice of Watto).

[ 2004 Star Wars Weekends ] Obi-Wanna-Be: How would you like to have a lightsaber duel with Darth Vader? Participate in the "Jedi Training Academy" to learn lightsaber skills and test them against Vader!

Galactic Game Show: Star Wars editions of the popular game show attraction "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire--Play It!" will be tailored with Star Wars-inspired questions, appearances by film characters, and audience participation to ensure Jabba-size fun.

Interactive, Interstellar Fun: Prove your Star Wars smarts in trivia contests held near the Star Tours attraction, and play with Star Wars-inspired electronic and video games featured in a special Video Starcade.

Wookiees, Jawas and Ewoks, Oh My!: Characters and creatures from all five Star Wars movies, including Queen Amidala, Darth Maul, Jango Fett, Greedo and more, will roam the Disney-MGM Studios greeting guests, signing autographs and posing for photographs.

High-Energy Thrill Ride: Take flight to the moon of Endor in Star Tours, the action-packed flight simulator that synchronizes a fun film with a virtual ride on a starship. It's a hair-raising, light-speed trip fit for droids, smugglers, Wookiees, and Jedi of all ages.

[ 2004 Star Wars Weekends ] A Galaxy of Collectibles: Collectors and souvenir hunters alike will be drawn to Tatooine Traders, an area adjacent to the Ewok Village at the Star Tours attraction, where fans will find event-exclusive Star Wars merchandise -- from trading pins and commemorative posters to apparel, medallions and other limited-edition items -- created by Disney and Lucasfilm Ltd. expressly for Star Wars Weekends 2004.

Star Wars Weekends run five consecutive weekends (Friday, Saturday and Sunday) May 14 -- June 13. Activities are included with regular Disney-MGM Studios admission.
