Here's a look ahead at some of the Star Wars titles Dark Horse Comics has in store for the new year.

[ Early 2008 Comics ] It's the last stand of the Galactic Alliance! A new two-part story begins in Star Wars: Legacy as one of the Sith's most wily opponents risks everything to gain ground against the Empire!

For seven years, outlaw Admiral Gar Stazi has led the remains of the Galactic Alliance in hit-and-run operations against the Sith-led Empire. When word reaches him of a nearly completed, top-secret Imperial construction, he gambles his entire fleet to seize the project and turn the tide of war against the Sith!

Star Wars: Legacy #20 is by John Ostrander, Brad Anderson and Douglas Wheatly. It is due out on January 16.

[ Early 2008 Comics ] A year-long event with repercussions for every era and every hero in the Star Wars galaxy begins in Knights of the Old Republic.

When a terrible vision reaching more than four thousand years into the future alerts the secret Jedi Covenant to the importance of Taris, they activate an operative already on this planet overrun by Mandalorians. There, in the deadly Undercity, she will encounter a monstrous threat, an ancient legend, and Zayne Carrick, the Padawan accused of killing his fellow students!

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic #25, the first part of the "Vector" storyline, is by John Jackson Miller, Scott Hepburn, Michael Atiyeh and Travis Charest. It is scheduled for release on January 30. For anyone who never knew where to start with Star Wars comics, "Vector" is the perfect introduction to the entire Star Wars line! For any serious Star Wars fan, "Vector" is the must-see event of 2008, with major happenings throughout the most important moments of the galaxy's history!

[ Early 2008 Comics ] The conclusion of a shocking two-part tale pitting the Sith Empire against the Galactic Alliance in an all-out space battle! The Sith have lured outlaw Admiral Gar Stazi into a trap to destroy the Alliance once and for all. Yet Stazi is no fool -- he may have agreed to play the Sith's game, but not with the cards they expect! Meanwhile, forces loyal to the deposed Emperor Roan Fel wait on the sidelines. Are they here to help, to hurt, or simply make off with whatever's left when the dust settles?

Star Wars: Legacy #21, by John Ostrander, Omar Francia, Brad Anderson and Doug Wheatley is scheduled for release on February 20.

[ Early 2008 Comics ] The second part of the biggest Star Wars story of 2008 begins with Mandalorians galore and ends with the arrival of a seemingly unstoppable threat! Fugitive Padawan Zayne Carrick and his con-artist companion Gryph have fallen into a situation even more dangerous than the one they escaped on war-torn Taris--surrounded by enemies and trapped in close-quarters with a deadly agent of the group who framed Zayne for killing his fellow Jedi-in-training!

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic #26, the second part of "Vector," is by John Jackson Miller, Scott Hepburn, Michael Atiyeh, and Dustin Weaver. It is due out on February 27.

[ Early 2008 Comics ] The greatest adventure in the galaxy comes to life in this manga-sized adaptation of Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back, composed of frames taken directly from the movie! The battle between the cruel Galactic Empire and the ragtag Rebel Alliance reaches its highest pitch yet in this amazing pocket-sized photo comic!

The Star Wars: Episode V The Empire Strikes Back digest-sized photo comic goes on sale March 26.

[ Early 2008 Comics ] LucasArts' game The Force Unleashed, is poised to be the Star Wars event of the year. The game-play promises to be stunning, but we think it's the story that will blow you away. Revealed here are the origins of Darth Vader's secret apprentice, the deadly missions on which he was sent to track down and destroy Jedi, and the awesome decision he is forced to make that will, literally, change the way you look at the Star Wars saga!

Scripted by the game's author, Haden Blackman, the Star Wars: The Force Unleashed graphic novel can be enjoyed alone, or as a companion to the amazing new game. It features artwork by Brian Ching and David Ross. The 104-page graphic novel is due out April 2nd.

[ Early 2008 Comics ] Learn the fate of the ancient Jedi Order's most legendary heroes in this huge collection! In a time when Jedi were numerous and the Sith Empire but a bitter memory, an ancient evil rose again, corrupting one of the Jedi's finest and igniting a war that ravaged worlds. The Sith were reborn, ties of friendship and family were betrayed, and the lives of Jedi Nomi Sunrider and Ulic Qel-Droma were changed forever.

The gargantuan 464-page Tales of the Jedi Omnibus, Volume 2 completes the epic Tales of the Jedi saga with "The Freedon Nadd Uprising," "Dark Lords of the Sith," "The Sith War," and "Redemption." It is written by Kevin J. Anderson and Tom Veitch, and features various artists. It is due out April 9.

[ Early 2008 Comics ] And finally, complete your photo-comic saga with the manga-sized adaptation of Return of the Jedi. Experience the climax of one of the most beloved sagas in history as Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, Han Solo, and all the rest reach their ultimate destinies in this photo comic that fits perfectly into your pocket! Star Wars: Episode VI Return of the Jedi photo comic is due out April 16.
