Since the earliest days of Star Wars production, George Lucas took care to have every step of the way extensively photo-documented. Thousands upon thousands of photographs were taken of the filming process, from on-set action to behind-the-scenes activities. Now, many of these images are appearing for the first time in a brand new, super-thick book from Harry N. Abrams.

At over 700 pages, Creating the Worlds of Star Wars: 365 Days is executed in the popular chunky "365-day" photo-packed book format. John Knoll, Visual Effects Supervisor on the Star Wars Special Edition Trilogy and the Star Wars prequel trilogy, is your guide through this unique journey behind the magic of the saga. He shares firsthand information regarding Episodes I, II and III, including many candid and rare photos he took himself. For the original trilogy, Knoll's longtime contacts at ILM helped provide photographs and anecdotes from the days when Star Wars was young. The book also features matte paintings, miniatures, and Knoll's 360-degree panorama photos.

The book also comes bundled with a CD-ROM of Knoll's panoramic imagery, wrapped into 720-degree images that you can explore. Hyperspace members have already been exploring these virtual tours in the weekly "KnollVision" series that focuses on Episode III.

Creating the Worlds of Star Wars: 365 Days by John Knoll is scheduled for release on October from Harry N. Abrams books.
