    Aqua Droid

Manufactured by the Techno Union, these underwater fighting droids were used by the Separatists during the Clone Wars to lay siege to aquatic planets like Kamino and Mon Calamari. They were formidable opponents and effective at surprise attacks. Aqua droids were more angular and stylized than standard battle droids, as well as excellent swimmers and were equipped with retractable laser cannons.

    Techno Union

A powerful galactic guild comprised of technology firms, the Techno Union was led by its lead engineer, Wat Tambor, during the final years of the Republic. The group helped create the battle-droid armies used by the Separatists, and Tambor pledged its loyalty to Count Dooku during the Separatist Crisis. Despite its Separatist ties, the Techno Union was represented in the Republic Senate, with Gume Saam speaking on its behalf. Tambor died on Mustafar at the end of the Clone Wars.

    Wat Tambor

The foreman of the Techno Union, Wat Tambor was one of the original and most fervent Separatist leaders, pledging his loyalty and his battle droid armies to Count Dooku at a pivotal meeting on Geonosis. Later in the war, Tambor was appointed emir of Ryloth. His occupation was a cruel one, in which Tambor stripped the Twi'leks of whatever valuables he could find, then bombed their villages.

  • Mon Calamari

    Mon Calamari

The Mon Calamari people are a humanoid, aquatic species with high-domed heads, webbed hands and large, goggle-like eyes. They hail from the oceans of Mon Cala, a planet they share with the Quarren. During the Clone Wars, differences between the two cultures were fanned by Separatist troublemakers to erupt in civil war. During the Galactic Civil War, the Mon Calamari were said to be the soul of the Rebel Alliance. The Empire pressed these gentle, amphibious people into war by subjugating their watery world. In retaliation, the Mon Calamari became one of the key species of the Rebellion, supplying badly needed warships to the outnumbered Alliance fleet.

  • Kamino

    Kamino

Once purged from the otherwise complete Jedi Archives was all evidence of the mysterious world of Kamino. A lonely world beyond the Outer Rim and just south of the Rishi Maze, few could have predicted that Kamino would become a key contributor to a massive shift in political power in the final days of the Republic. Kamino is a planet of endless oceans and storms. Few features mark its surface, save for massive stilt-mounted cities wherein reside the planet's natural inhabitants, the Kaminoans. From Tipoca City, the planet's prime minister rules. Lama Su and Kamino’s chief medical scientist Nala Se closely monitor the operations of Kamino's most prized export -- clones -- even after the Clone Wars reaches a conclusion.

    Asajj Ventress

A former Jedi Padawan turned assassin, Asajj Ventress was trained in the ways of the dark side by Count Dooku. For many years, she yearned to be considered a true Sith, secretly acting as Dooku’s apprentice. During the time of the Clone Wars, Ventress fought for the Separatists, clashing with Jedi like Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker with her twin red-bladed lightsabers. But after Dooku was ordered to dispose of Asajj and left her for dead, Ventress returned to her Nightsister clan to exact her revenge. In time, Ventress reinvented herself as a bounty hunter and reclaimed her identity, neither a Sith nor a Jedi.

  • Quarren

    Quarren

Quarren, or "Squid Heads" as they are sometimes rudely called, are an alien species characterized by the four tentacles that protrude from their jaws. They have deep turquoise eyes, and each hand is capped with finned or suction-cup tipped fingers. They are capable swimmers, and like the squids they resemble, they are able to spit out clouds of ink as a defensive measure. Quarren hail from the planet Mon Cala, a world they share with the Mon Calamari. During the Clone Wars, the Separatists backed a Quarren insurrection that plunged the planet into civil war.
