The deadly Slave I was infamous for its association with Jango Fett, a bounty hunter in Mandalorian armor. Fett packed the craft with weapons, from laser cannons and projectile launchers to seismic charges.
After Jango's death, Boba Fett refitted Slave I and made it his own. A generation after his father's death, the distinctive craft remained the last thing fugitives wanted to see on their scanners.
Jango Fett used the Slave I as his principal transport on the rare occasion that he would leave Kamino on bounty hunting business. He used the ship to chase Obi-Wan Kenobi through the rings of Geonosis when the Jedi Knight got a little too nosy.
Boba Fett inherited his father's craft after Jango's untimely demise. The ship changed hands during the Clone Wars, but eventually came back to Boba's control. Fett piloted the Slave I when he tracked Han Solo to Cloud City, and delivered the carbon-frozen Corellian to Tatooine in the cargo hold of his ship.
When Aurra Sing served as a guardian to young Boba Fett, she took to piloting the Slave I. She flew the craft to Florrum, where it was extensively damaged in a frantic attempt to escape Jedi pursuit. Ahsoka Tano sheered off one of the Slave I's stabilizers, causing the ship to crash into the desert.
Hondo Ohnaka added the crashed Slave I to his vast gallery of junk at his pirate headquarters on Florrum. He spent time tinkering with the famous vessel, rebuilding it after Aurra Sing's crash.
When Obi-Wan was investigating repeated assassination attempts on Padmé Amidala's life, his search took him to Kamino where he tangled with Jango Fett. Kenobi had to survive not only fighting with Fett, but defending against blasts from the Slave I's cannons, fired by young Boba. Kenobi affixed a tracking device on the Slave I, which let him follow the craft to Geonosis.
