From the Movies
Senator Onaconda Farr, a Loyalist Senator close to the office of Supreme Chancellor Palpatine, represented the world of Rodia during the early days of the Clone Wars.
From the Expanded Universe
Though corrupt, Senator Farr nonetheless has a strong love for the Republic, or at the very least, the institution that allowed him to profit from exploitable loopholes in its immense bureaucracy. Still, for all his shady activities, he had a zealous hatred for the Separatists.
On numerous occasions Farr was very critical of Palpatine's handling of Separatist crisis. He often accused Palpatine of following his own political agenda to the detriment of the Republic. He even dealt Palpatine an embarrassing blow by proving that a member of his Loyalist Committee had strong Separatist ties.
As reward for his vigilance, Farr was appointed to the Committee. The once vocal proponent of the Military Creation Act had his loud voice muted when he suffered a personal loss in the days before the election -- a house-fire on his native Rodia killed his sister and brother.
Behind the Scenes
Although Farr was only named for Episode II, Rodian Senators were visible in Episode I. The wardrobe worn by Farr is the same as worn by Dar Wac, Palpatine's aide, which carries on the Rodian habit of dressing similarly, first seen in Episode IV.
