The pudgy, comic-faced Ben Quadinaros was a rookie Podracer who claimed he came from the mysterious Tund system. He competed in the Boonta Eve Podrace that saw the liberation of Anakin Skywalker from slavery. Ben was largely inexperienced, and was quite terrified of the Boonta race.
From the Expanded Universe
Ben, used to the less cutthroat competition of the Pouffra Circuit, drove a hastily put together Balta-Trabaat BT310 quadra-Pod racer, which malfunctioned during the Boonta race. It stalled at the starting grid, and by the time the other racers had completed their first lap, his power couplings fizzled out, causing the four engines to go off in all directions. It is believed that another racer, Ark "Bumpy" Roose may have sabotaged Ben's Pod.
Although he failed to even start in the Boonta race, he still profited from a wager he made with Boles Roor. Roor, in a drunken stupor, bet that the cowardly Toong wouldn't dare enter the Boonta race. Quadinaros took the bet, and was five million peggats richer for it.
Ben is a 1.63-meter tall Toong alien with a round body, long lanky legs, and long, thin arms.
Behind the Scenes
Ben Quadinaros was developed from sketches by Iain McCaig and Terryl Whitlatch. In the Episode I film, Ben was a computer-generated character.
