Syke competes with Rebolt for Moloch’s favor, with each seeking to impress the Grindalid enforcer by showing how tough and mean he can be. Syke is better than Rebolt at handling the White Worms’ pack of Corellian hounds, and genuinely fond of the beasts – a rare example of affection in the pitiless sewers of Coronet City.
Also known as Sibian hounds, these fleet-footed canids have keen senses enhanced through generations of breeding for hunting and attack. Moloch uses a pack of Corellian hounds to hunt down fugitive scrumrats and other enemies of the White Worms, loading his beasts into a cage aboard his armored truckspeeder.
The scrumrats are orphans and scavengers plucked off the streets of Coronet City by the White Worms. In exchange for food and shelter, these desperate youths serve the criminal gang, with the most capable rising up the ranks from vermin-catchers and pickpockets to errand runners and operatives. The lead scrumrat, appointed by Lady Proxima, is known as the Head.
One of Corellia’s many criminal gangs, the White Worms form the backbone of the black market in the coastal city of Coronet. Their lair is an abandoned water-processing plant, guarded by an army of urchins and scavengers known as the scrumrats. The scrumrats are ruled by a small number of Grindalids, led by the White Worm matriarch, Lady Proxima.
The White Worms’ lair is a long-abandoned water-processing plant in an industrial area of Coronet City. A maze of tunnels leads to the surface; at their heart is a central cistern with blacked-out windows that protect the Grindalids from the damaging rays of Corellia’s sun. Here, Lady Proxima holds court over her scrumrats.
