Hera and Kanan sit together, talking about how no matter what, they always end up on Lothal. Hera wonders if Kanan thinks they were meant to come here and meet Ezra. The Jedi believes there's more to it -- he just doesn't know what.
With the rebels on mission to recover the TIE defender hyperdrive, Thrawn unleashes his personal assassin, Rukh. He attacks, but the rebels manage to escape, hyperdrive in tow. Rukh, however, had placed a tracker on Ezra's speeder bike.
Ezra delivers the hyperdrive, and it's installed in the rebels' ship. Following an earlier exchange about their future, Hera kisses Kanan, leaving no doubt about her feelings for him. "May the Force be with you," she says before taking off for the rebel base.
The Empire pins Ezra and the remaining rebels. Just when things look dire, the Padawan spots loth-wolves in the distance. They follow the beasts for a way out.
Hera weaves through the Empire's forces, making the jump to lightspeed. Thrawn is not pleased.
Pryce orders the mountains bombed. Meanwhile, the loth-wolves seem interested in Kanan, and lead the rebels into caverns when he arrives. Inside, they find ancient paintings of people following loth-wolves.
As the bombing commences and the caverns begin to collapse, the loth-wolves lead the rebels further. The walls begin to glow, and the wolves seem to walk on space...
The rebels wake in a field, and discover they're in the southern hemisphere -- they have somehow moved halfway across the planet. Inside one of the structures, Kanan and Ezra see more paintings on the wall. Kanan believes there is a message here for them.
Suddenly, the white loth-wolf speaks: Dume. Kanan reveals that it is his real name. Caleb Dume. He touches the loth-wolf, learning that its connection with the Force and Lothal runs deep. "I'm getting the feeling building the TIE defender isn't the worst thing the Empire is doing here. There's something else. Something more...sinister."
Hera arrives at the rebel base, delivering the TIE defender flight data recorder to Mon Mothma.
