The Ghost crew heads to Joopa Base to meet with some old friends. There, they plan a mission to help Ezra liberate Lothal. But sensing that something has changed, Ezra believes they need to act immediately.
Meanwhile, Governor Pryce receives a secret communiqué from Ryder Azadi. He agrees to betray the rebellion for full amnesty.
Following Ryder's tip, the Empire arrives, pummeling the rebels. A firefight erupts as Pryce seeks her victory.
Aboard the Ghost, Hondo advises they wait just outside a hyperspace lane -- and latch onto an Imperial ship when one arrives. It's risky, but it'll get them past the Imperial blockade. And it works.
The Empire continues their attack, toppling the rebels' ore crawler and forcing Ezra and Zeb to make a desperate leap to survive. Things look grim, and there's still no sign of Hera and the Ghost.
The Imperials have won. Ezra and the rebels surrender as Pryce disembarks to greet them.
Suddenly, Ryder rises. He betrayed them! Or did he? "Getting you to come all the way out here was part of our plan," Azadi says.
With that, the Ghost appears, blasting away. The clones, Hondo, Kallus, and friends disembark, and a new battle begins. Rukh, Thrawn's assassin, corners Ezra, only to find...
...he doesn't need an army. He has Loth-wolves. The beasts attack the Imperials, ending the fight. Pryce surrenders and is taken prisoner.
As the dust settles, the rebels are victorious. But it's not over. "Not until we chase the Empire from Lothal," Ezra says, "and show the galaxy that for all their power, they can be defeated."
