A conveyex is an imposing sight: a long train of armored cargo cars strung between a drive engine and a caboose with a turret cannon. A conveyex is two-tiered, with cargo cars arrayed on each side of the track in an over-under configuration. On Vandor, the Beckett gang launches a bold plan to steal a shipment of valuable coaxium from an Imperial conveyex.
Manufactured by BlasTech, the E-10 is a forerunner of the E-11 rifle. Mimban’s mudtroopers are eager for the E-10 to be phased out, complaining that it has a habit of jamming at the worst possible moment. A variant used by range troopers, the E-10R, offers enhanced electroscope optics, and an extended stock that can house extra ammunition.
Range troopers assigned to conveyex security duty on Vandor wear heavy-duty magnetized gription boots. These boots allow them to inspect the train while it races along the track, making twists and turns to avoid obstacles. Interface controls for the boots are typically located on the trooper’s vambrace armor plate.
An unspoiled frontier world with soaring mountains and endless plains, Vandor is sparsely settled and lacking the technological infrastructure common on other planets. But Vandor’s days as a refuge from the hurly-burly of galactic civilization are numbered: the Empire has a growing presence on the planet.
