Not every Jedi perished in Order 66. Once known by the name Caleb Dume, Kanan Jarrus survived the Emperor’s purge, going underground for years and hiding the truth about who he really was. To keep his past a secret, Kanan carried a blaster -- an uncommon practice for a Jedi -- and used a lightsaber that had to be assembled. In the years leading up to the galactic civil war, he was a leader among the Ghost crew, a small group of rebels looking to strike back against the Empire, and with the emergence of the Force-sensitive Ezra, once again embraced his identity as a Jedi Knight.
The enemies of the Empire feared interrogation at the hands of the Imperial Security Bureau and the Inquisitors, and the First Order has continued this brutal tradition, crafting interrogation chairs to restrain captives and inflict pain on them via the chairs’ built-in probes and tools. Interrogators often do their hideous work with the assistance of torture droids.
The Lothal fuel depot was built during the Empire's occupation of the planet. Serving the entire Imperial presence on the planet, its reserves are massive.
Capable of supporting tremendous weight, magnetic climbers are used to scale metallic surfaces, allowing a skilled climber to reach the highest peaks.
Loth-bat gliders two-passenger aerial transports created by rebels Ezra Bridger and Sabine Wren, designed to look like Loth-bats. In an effort to evade Imperial detection while infiltrating one of the Empire's Lothal bases, the Ghost crew flew in with a pack of the winged creatures and successfully rescued their friend, Hera Syndulla.
Giant winged creatures native to Lothal, Loth-bats routinely travel in packs and can glide over long distances. They emit strained, high-pitched squeals, which are known to unnerve the stormtroopers who patrol Lothal at night.
