Battlefront is Back!

Star Wars Battlefront is back and bigger than ever, dropping on the PlayStation Portable and Nintendo DS this fall. Players will have a chance to grab hold of the deepest and most action-packed Star Wars Battlefront game ever.

No longer confined to choosing between the sky and the land, the new battles span ground, space and capital starships. Coupled with that, both games deliver a robust original storyline and expanded gameplay features that deliver seemingly endless replayability.

Naturally, all we really care about is once again living the fantasy of being that trooper who takes down the Rebellion or the Rebel pilot who distracts his enemies long enough for his allies to destroy the orbiting ship. On this count, Battlefront: Elite Squadron delivers everything from the previous games -- and more.

The huge scale that the Star Wars franchise brings to the realm of space battles finally gets its due. Players can rise above a ground battle in a comandeered X-wing to take down a starship bombarding the trenches below. Heading straight at the ship, the player can choose to dogfight against his enemies or even land on the ship and target its core to deal that final blow.

While the PSP version of the game allows unprecedented levels of customization for each player, the Nintendo DS offers up something else entirely -- a unique bit of gameplay which is based around specialized classes. This allows players to play the way they want and get right to their favorite style of gameplay -- even if it includes lightsaber fights.

With the biggest Battlefront yet coming this fall, we're sure fans will be excited to take the battles of Hoth, Endor and Yavin 4 with them wherever they go.
