Padmé Amidala was a courageous, hopeful leader, serving as Queen and then Senator of Naboo -- and was also handy with a blaster. Despite her ideals and all she did for the cause of peace, her secret, forbidden marriage to Jedi Anakin Skywalker would prove to have dire consequences for the galaxy.
The Senator from Rodia, Onaconda Farr had long been a friend and ally to Padmé Amidala. Farr disappointed many when he briefly allied his world to the Separatist cause, but he saw the error of his ways and returned to the Republic fold with Amidala's help. Nonetheless, the damage was done, and some in the Senate were not willing to forgive and forget.
Papanoida became chairman of Pantora after the death of Chi Cho. When he refused to join the Separatists, they blockaded Pantora and hired the bounty hunter Greedo to kidnap Papanoida's daughters. Unwilling to wait for Coruscant law enforcement or the Senate to help, Papanoida took it on himself to solve the kidnapping and rescue his children.
The strong-willed female Kaminoan Senator is well-respected in both the Galactic Senate and in her own world of Kamino which is known for its production of the clone troopers. The aged Kaminoan bartered her clone production efforts into a seat in the Senate, and she longed for nothing more than to see Padme's peace-promoting efforts fail. Senator Burtoni's aggressive and intrusive behavior made her not only an intimidating character, but often a suspect in criminal and unethical activities to further her political career.
A city-covered planet, Coruscant is the vibrant heart and capital of the galaxy, featuring a diverse mix of citizens and culture. It features towering skyscrapers, streams of speeder-filled air traffic, and inner levels that stretch far below the world’s surface. Coruscant was the seat of government for the Galactic Republic and the Empire that followed, and was the site of numerous historic events during the Clone Wars. It also housed the Jedi Temple and Archives, which hosted Jedi training and learning for over a thousand generations -- traditions that ended when the planet bore witness to Order 66.
