Midwife droids were hovering medical droids designed to assist in the birth and newborn care for a variety of species. They had white faces and green and blue light sensors in their facial area. One of these droids, while making soothing cooing sounds, helped deliver the Skywalker twins on the far flung outpost at Polis Massa.
