A small, secretive private military force, the Resistance was founded by rebel hero Leia Organa to monitor the actions of the First Order. Most New Republic power brokers tolerate the Resistance while regarding Organa and her fighters as dead-enders with an unfortunate fixation on the past. Organa’s cash-strapped movement relies on credits, ships and equipment quietly funneled to it from the few senators who share her concerns.
The Incom T-70 X-wing is the latest incarnation of a classic design, and the signature combat craft of the Resistance’s Starfighter Corps. Faster than the Alliance-era T-65s, Resistance X-wings are maneuverable enough to engage TIE fighters in dogfights, but powerful enough to take down capital ships. The credit-strapped Resistance relies on X-wings donated or lent by sympathetic New Republic senators and local security forces. During the assault on Starkiller Base, Poe Dameron flies a customized, dark-hulled X-wing under the call sign Black Leader.
A lush world in the Outer Rim, D’Qar is the principal base of General Leia Organa’s Resistance. Rebel pilots first surveyed the planet before the Battle of Endor, and D’Qar housed a small Alliance outpost that went largely unused in the New Republic’s war with the Empire. The planet’s obscurity and lack of native intelligent life made it a perfect choice when General Organa’s new group needed a hidden base of operations.
A burly loading droid clad in yellow ceramic armor plate, B-U4D serves on D’Qar as part of the ground crew that keeps the Resistance’s starfighters ready to fly. Tough and hard-working, “Buford” is one of many Resistance droids granted independence and seen as partners in the cause rather than mere machines.
Built to resemble the long-necked Tofallid species, PZ-4CO is an invaluable intelligence droid based at the Resistance headquarters on D’Qar. Despite her hulking appearance, she speaks in a pleasant voice, offering tactical data and communications support during operations. “Peazy” and C-3PO often work together to monitor the Resistance’s galaxy-wide network of droid agents.
The Abednedo pilot Ello Asty is known among his fellow Resistance pilots for his superb abilities behind the stick – and for his trouble remembering that a squadron must act as a team, not a loose collection of individuals. Ello flew with Cobalt Squadron in the early days of the Resistance and is a member of Blue Squadron during the attack on Starkiller Base.
