  • The original name of the episode was the COMMODIA JOB (and later, PIRATES OF THE CAMMODIA SYSTEM) as the planet’s spiral flush of atmospheric turbulence inspired a toilet joke or two. Better taste prevailed, and the planet was renamed Wynkathu.

  • During development, the story was likened to be a cross between a disaster movie and a heist flick. As an analogy during the story conference, the cargo ship was likened to a World War II German train filled with looted European treasure. The theme, “Working together is always more profitable than only looking after your own interests.”

  • The Imperial sentry droids were inspired by the Dark Troopers from the classic video game Dark Forces. The animation body frame is the largely the same as General Kalani from “The Last Battle” earlier this season.

  • The sentry droid’s built-in top blaster on its right arm is actually a repurposed and modified E-11 stormtrooper rifle.

  • Melch now wears Hondo Ohnaka’s pirate symbol on his helmet.

  • The Twi’lek “Ark of the Covenant” first seen as a background element in The Clone Wars is among the treasures aboard the transport.
