The public face of the Crimson Dawn crime syndicate, Dryden Vos is a contradiction: a pitiless enforcer known as a gangster of wealth and taste. Vos socializes with the galaxy’s elite aboard his lavishly appointed yacht First Light, and enjoys showing off his superb collection of antiquities. His good manners shouldn’t be mistaken for weakness, though: he can change from generous host to ruthless killer in a moment.

Dryden Vos travels the galaxy in a ship as refined as he is – an elegant Kalevalan yacht with a night-black finish known as the First Light. The yacht boasts elegant staterooms and six main viewing decks, with Vos’s private study at the apex. While moored on Vandor, the First Light is the site of lavish parties – and tense meetings with the Crimson Dawn kingpin.

One of the galaxy’s emerging crime syndicates, Crimson Dawn has quickly established a reputation for both ruthlessness and efficiency. The cultured gangster Dryden Vos is the organization’s most visible representative, but underworld figures have begun to take notice of Vos’s capable lieutenant and protégé, Qi’ra.

Despite her youth, Qi’ra is Dryden Vos’s most trusted lieutenant, and an increasingly important Crimson Dawn operative. She has risen far above the bleak conditions of her youth on Corellia, where she lived in the sewers with the notorious White Worms gang.

Dryden Vos employs Toht Ra and his fellow Hylobon thugs to serve as security aboard the First Light. Ra is the yacht’s attendant, confiscating guests’ weapons as they board. The Hylobon has a percussive cannon and vibrocutlass at the ready in case of trouble.

An unspoiled frontier world with soaring mountains and endless plains, Vandor is sparsely settled and lacking the technological infrastructure common on other planets. But Vandor’s days as a refuge from the hurly-burly of galactic civilization are numbered: the Empire has a growing presence on the planet.
