Omega realizes the left tunnel is missing part of its track, but Tech uses his increased maneuverability to zip through the "Nellis Express to Lotho Minor" and jump the gap, closing in on the other racers as he exits.

Soon, Tech finds himself in the "crunch," locked between Venim and Steel Claw in the competition-eliminating maneuver. But Tech, always one step ahead, hits the brakes and his speeder drops out of the way as the claw lurches forward and grabs Venim's speeder instead!

It's a close race to the finish, but Tech glides over the finish line largely unscathed, having outwitted his opponents. The Batch have succeeded in saving Cid's skin.

But as they leave Safa Toma, Millegi compliments the team's loyalty before issuing a warning. "With Cid, it doesn't always go both ways. Watch your backs."
