The Perspex-domed sink in Cassian Andor’s Niamos hotel room was modelled after a similar sink in the Lars homestead in Star Wars: A New Hope. The Andor build is one of the few appearances of a refresher, the in-universe name for a toilet, discretely hidden in the sink and shower unit.

The design brief for B2EMO was a cross between a Rubik’s Cube and a tool box, which should also evoke and behave like the Andor’s family dog. His charging station was often referred to as a “dog bed” by the crew.

For Niamos’ KX-units, stunt performers used the same performance capture rigs and stilts that actor Alan Tudyk utilized for K-2SO in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.

Niamos was shot at the waterfront of Cleveleys, England, just north of the resort town of Blackpool.

An art exhibition space at a defunct boarding school, Carmel College, near Wallingford, England, served as the Niamos courthouse interior set.

Graphic designer Elle McKee came up with the idea of using Ralph McQuarrie production paintings for the Perspex postcards sold at the tourist shop on Niamos.

This episode marks an appearance by Colonel Wulff Yularen, who has a convoluted origin in Star Wars storytelling. Though he is said to be in Star Wars: A New Hope, the character was an unnamed extra in a white uniform during the Death Star conference room scene. The Star Wars customizable card game (1995) named him, and identified him as an ISB officer. Later, Star Wars: The Clone Wars (2008) used that character as the basis of a Republic fleet admiral, voiced by Tom Kane. That same admiral was then depicted in Star Wars Rebels in his ISB role.

Visible in Luthen’s gallery in this episode are such artifacts as a Kel Dor breather mask, a Jedi Temple Guard mask, and a Gungan shield.

As Kleya makes her way from the transit station, some stormtrooper chatter calls out "LUH 341," which is a reference to LUH 3417, Maggie McOmie’s character in THX 1138 -- George Lucas’ first feature film.

The flashback to the Rix Road protest -- and "Clem" Andor’s unfortunate role in it -- takes place during the first year of the Empire, before the full transition from clone trooper to stormtrooper forces.

The dataplaques that serve as records of sentencing on Niamos include Easter egg mentions rather than being true in-universe prisoners. This includes Richard Stevenson being sentenced for five years, and Keith Seymour (set dec concept artist, and suspected Force-sensitive) set to serve 25 years.
