His newest book Super Boys (St. Martin’s Press) is about the creators of Superman and was named a Top 10 Book on the Arts by Booklist. His column about comic books, “Unassuming Barber Shop,” appears at The Beat. His first book American Mastodon won the St. Lawrence Book Award. He also won a Silver Ace Award for his film Last Son. He teaches at Case Western Reserve University and at the Cleveland Institute of Art.
