During the '80s, if you weren't making a latch-hook rug of your favorite movie and cartoon characters (or a unicorn), you were sadly living in a craft-free home. Some of us have fond memories of spending the holidays sitting in front of the TV watching cartoons as we diligently took the latch-hook tool to poke a piece of colored yarn looped through and knotted onto a plastic or linen square mesh that would eventually become a cool little rug to hang on the wall or display by our beds.
Latch-hook rug and pillow kits were made by Lee Wards in 1980 and featured such Star Wars characters as Darth Vader, R2-D2, C-3PO, Chewbacca, Yoda and stormtroopers.
