While most of us tend to think of the Star Wars saga as timeless, classic, and unyielding to the frivolous whims of pop culture, there have actually been a few notable infractions made on the merchandising front in years past: Remember the van craze of the '70s? Yeah, we've got those. How about those latch-hook rugs from the '80s? Yep, those too. And the '90s pogs? Uh-huh.

To that end, we've scoured the collection of Steve Sansweet to come up with a handful of items that seem to be firmly fixed in the '70s, '80s or '90s, hopelessly trapped by the fads of the era.

Did we miss anything? Be sure and let us know in the comments section below!

Vans

One of the first fads Star Wars licensees fell victim to was the van craze of the late '70s. Kenner offered a pair of SSP (that's "Super Sonic Power") zip-cord gyro-powered vans with "Vantastic Space Age Design" (yes, really) in good guy white or bad guy black, followed by a trio of Star Wars-inspired vans by model maker MPC. Gotta love that dome top on the Artoo van.
