Star Wars: The Clone Wars - Season 4, Episode 14 //
A Friend in Need
Ahsoka Tano, a Togruta female, was the Padawan learner to Anakin Skywalker and a hero of the Clone Wars. Alongside Anakin, she grew from headstrong student into a mature leader. But her destiny laid along a different path than the Jedi.
The son of Separatist Senator Mina Bonteri, Lux was young, idealistic, and skeptical of the aims of the Republic and the Jedi Knights. His father was a fervent supporter of the Separatists, and was killed by clone troopers on Aargonar. Lux did not know what to make of Ahsoka Tano and her visit to Separatist space. After a failed peace overture begun by Mina extended to the Republic, Lux's mother died under mysterious circumstances attributed to the Republic. Lux filled her position in the Separatist Senate, representing his home planet of Onderon.
During the Clone Wars, Pre Vizsla served as governor of Concordia, a moon of Mandalore, and appeared to be a close ally of Duchess Satine Kryze. But Vizsla had another, secret life: he was the leader of Death Watch, a hidden group of Mandalorian commandos seeking control of their planet. In truth, Vizsla despised Satine’s pacifist beliefs and longed to restore Mandalore’s warrior heritage. To accomplish this goal, he formed several alliances with nefarious parties that ultimately led to his end.
The warrior clans of Mandalore were believed to have been wiped out ages ago, their tattered remnants exiled to the Concordia moon. But as the Clone Wars swept the galaxy, the treacherous governor Pre Vizsla resurrected the Mandalorians, and with them, their legendary combat armor that was feared across the galaxy. Backed by Count Dooku and the Separatists, Vizsla began building an army to retake Mandalore from the control of pacifists who were trying to bury violent Mandalore's past. As the coup became inopportune, Dooku abandoned the Death Watch, leading once again to their exile. The Death Watch became a murderous band of nomadic outlaws, battle-worn rogues that wandered the Clone Wars.
A beautiful, snow-draped world in the Outer Rim Territories, Carlac avoided much of the violence of the Clone Wars. But when the nomadic Death Watch warriors turned it into a camp, the planet and its peaceful Ming Po people faced death and destruction. The cruel Death Watch warriors erected temporary tents next to a Ming Po town, and raided the defenseless village for servants. Chieftain Pieter, leader of the Ming Po, demanded that Death Watch leave Carlac at once, unleashing the cruel temper of Pre Vizsla.
The elder leader of a town of Ming Po on Carlac, Chieftain Pieter hated the intruding Death Watch and their bullying ways. The marauding gang set up camp next to Pieter's town, and kidnapped many of the defenseless townspeople to toil as their servants. Pieter bravely confronted Vizsla, demanding the return of his people. Vizsla appeared to concede, but it was all a cruel ploy to teach Pieter a painful lesson.
