The Ten Million Dollar Bigfoot Bounty: Sasquatch Hunting…with Lightsabers

Rictor Riolo and Dax Rushlow of The Ten Million Dollar Bigfoot Bounty

My name is Rictor Riolo, and my friend Dax Rushlow and I are two lifelong Star Wars fans that work as a team on Spike TV’s new reality show, The Ten Million Dollar Bigfoot Bounty beginning today. Dax is 43, an avid outdoorsman from Massachusetts and has experienced two Bigfoot encounters before he became a full-time Bigfoot researcher. I have made a name for myself in the Bigfoot community with my Bigfoot webcast called After Hours with Rictor. I’m 41, from Las Vegas and have never been out in the woods before — EVER — and was taught the ways of the forest by Dax. With cameras on, there is no time for mistakes — it’s get out there and get evidence of Bigfoot — or be sent home. In doing so, new and creative ideas are needed, and being that Dax and I are the biggest Star Wars fans, we brought our FX lightsabers out on the hunt! Do or do not, there is no try!

I say on the show, “If there is a sasquatch in the area, the idea with the lightsabers is to generate curiosity because lightsabers are not normal lights they would have seen before. They are not typical flashlights used by other Bigfooters and hunters.”

Dax and Rictor lightsaber duel

Dax has had positive results using a lightsaber to draw in suspicious activity in the form of tree knocks in late spring of 2012, in Western Massachusetts. “You really can’t hunt Bigfoot because they are too elusive, so you need to find a hotspot where you know they are known to be and entice them in by tempting their natural curiosity,” Dax says. “I thought of this unique approach after experiencing a couple of encounters after hanging glow sticks from trees.” His subsequent research yielded interesting vocalizations and more tree knocks. So why not try lightsabers? They are bigger, brighter, and make a noise that no Bigfoot has ever heard before. Attached is an enhanced photo taken by Dax of a peeping Bigfoot after his experiment using a lightsaber.

“For reference,” Dax notes in the show, “if you want to take your Star Wars lightsabers out into the forest on your own Bigfoot expedition, we suggest using the green blade because it really lights up the forest floor.” I agree, “The red one, not so much.”

Spike TV has released a small clip of Dax and me with our Jedi approach along with another team, Justin and Ro; for more information about the show, visit Spike TV’s offical site. You can follow Dax and me on Twitter: @Rictor_Riolo and @daxmaul.

The Ten Million Dollar Bigfoot Bounty is the first of its kind for many reasons. This competition reality show is offering the biggest pay out in TV history, and no other Bigfoot/paranormal show has been made quite like this before. Unlike other Bigfoot series, good science is a priority and plays a large role. The audience will learn proper protocol in collecting DNA evidence and watch the DNA extraction process in the show’s mobile DNA laboratory.

On Bigfoot Bounty, you will have to watch and see what happens to us as we ignite our blades and examine the forest floor. Hopefully we will get some kind of noise or response from a sasquatch. You’ll just have to tune in and see…

The Ten Million Dollar Bigfoot Bounty airs Fridays at 10 p.m. ET, starting tonight on Spike TV. May the forest be with you.
