Wondering what’s been happening at StarWars.com? Here’s a quick roundup of what you might have missed this week, including some major Star Wars: Episode VII news and lots more!

STAR WARS: EPISODE VII

In a major announcement on the development of Star Wars: Episode VII, Lucasfilm has confirmed that Academy Award-winning writer Michael Arndt will pen the screenplay for Star Wars: Episode VII. Arndt’s credits include the critically-acclaimed hits Toy Story 3 and Little Miss Sunshine, the latter for which he won the Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay.

This week also saw the release of part two of StarWars.com’s video series featuring Kathleen Kennedy and George Lucas, in which they further discuss the development of Episode VII, as well as blog posts from The Clone WarsDave Filoni and Ashley Eckstein, featuring their thoughts on new Star Wars movies and Disney’s acquisition of Lucasfilm.

ANGRY BIRDS STAR WARS

It’s here! Angry Birds Star Wars was released November 8 on iOS, Android, Amazon Kindle Fire, Mac, PC, Windows Phone, and Windows 8.

THE CLONE WARS SEASON FIVE, EPISODE SEVEN PREVIEW

The Clone Wars Season Five continues tomorrow morning at 9:30 a.m. on Cartoon Network. In “A Test of Strength,” Jedi younglings prepare to build their first lightsabers, but run into some unexpected danger. Check out StarWars.com’s preview of “A Test of Strength.”

There’s something extra-special about this episode, however: Doctor Who‘s David Tennant guest stars as Huyang, an ancient droid who oversees the creation of every lightsaber. Find out how Tennant came to be involved with the episode.
