Luke, Han, and Leia are once again taking on the evil Galactic Empire. Only this time, they’re birds, and they’re facing squads of Pigtroopers, trying to destroy the Pig Star, and hoping to defeat the terrifying Darth Vader, Dark Lord of the Pigs. Angry Birds Star Wars, the new blockbuster game from Rovio Entertainment and Lucasfilm Ltd., is now available on iOS, Android, Amazon Kindle Fire, Mac, PC, Windows Phone, and Windows 8.

But it’s more than just a game launch: we think fans are going to just love the new animated trailer and the Angry Birds Star Wars products, sure to be a big hit this holiday season.”
Angry Birds Star Wars features more than 80 levels and takes players into the classic settings and scenes of the Star Wars saga, but with the Angry Birds art style, intuitive controls, and innovative gameplay that are the series’ hallmarks. Gamers will have the ability to level up birds, get free updates, and unlock lots of secrets and hidden goodies. Fans can also train in the “Path of the Jedi” in-app purchase to become a Jedi Master. Ultimately, Angry Birds Star Wars is a whole new way of experiencing Star Wars, and is a testament to its adaptability and appeal in different mediums and formats.

Concurrently with the game launch, Rovio and Lucasfilm have also introduced tie-in merchandise created by Hasbro, including toys, playsets, and plush dolls, available now; a new cinematic trailer, which recreates the classic Star Wars cantina scene with Angry Birds Star Wars characters in the starring roles, was also released to celebrate the launch of the game.
