Why buy expensive frames when you can make your own using old CD jewel cases? All you need to start is your own artwork or some cool pages from Star Wars Insider magazine, glitter glue and a wall for your framed pieces to hang! Soon you'll be displaying your newly-framed art of Jawas, stormtroopers and Ewoks on your bedroom wall just like in a fancy gallery!

What You Need:

  • Empty CD Jewel Cases
  • Magazine cutouts, your original artwork, web site print outs
  • Scissors
  • Glitter/glitter glue (optional)
  • Packing tape

Instructions:

1. First trace the empty jewel case on the image you want to frame and cut it out with a scissors.

2. Slide the cutout image into the jewel case to make sure it fits. You may have to trim the image a bit more for a perfect placement in the case. Once you get the right size, use that as a template to cut out other images you want to frame as well to save time on tracing.

3. Once the image is in the jewel case feel free to decorate the frame with glitter glue, googley eyes and paint.

4. Stick some heavy duty tape on the back of the case to hang your newly-framed art on your wall. Ask your mom or dad first so they can help you place it on the wall properly. Give your framed art away as presents, or better yet have an art show featuring all the characters you learned how to create from our online Learn to Draw lessons!
