Bronze Yoda

By Pete Vilmur

There are actually two items that can be listed under this title, both of which were sculpted by Lawrence Noble and are priced beyond many-a-collector's budget. The first bronze, a miniature commemorative cast in 1990 for Empire's 10th anniversary, came with an edition size of just 50, and is virtually impossible to find today. A later life-size version, which can currently be seen on two Lucasfilm campuses, was released a few years ago with an edition size of just 30 (plus an additional six artist proofs) -- the sky is the limit for the purchase price of one of these sold-out editions, if you can find one.

With time, several aliens from the prequel trilogy are sure to emerge as grail collectibles -- the life-size Maul, Watto, and Jar Jar statues from 1999 are top contenders -- but all good things must come to those who wait. Of course, the talking Jar Jar piggy bank might be waiting quite a while.
