A Millennium of Gaming: A Look Back at the Falcon in Video Games

Marking the first (and only) game dedicated to our favorite flying machine, the portable Game Boy Advance was given Flight of the Falcon (2003). Technologically advanced, it offered some of the better simulated 3D graphics on the system. Because of this, flying through the environments of the original trilogy was finally possible without the need to be tethered to a console and television.

Naturally, the titular ship was the focus of the game. With its low-level polygon count, there wasn't much detail, but for the time and the little portable system , it was simply stunning.

On the PlayStation Portable, fans got the chance to take to the skies in Star Wars Battlefront: Renegade Squadron (2007). While commonly players would jump into the cockpit of a TIE fighter or an X-wing, the disc-shaped craft could still be seen swooping through the battles that the game is famous for.
