A Millennium of Gaming: A Look Back at the Falcon in Video Games

X-Wing Alliance (1999)

The first game to truly make the Millennium Falcon a focus for gamers was X-Wing Alliance, the third entry in the X-Wing series built for the PC. Rather than simply piloting a new ship, players were given the reins of the entire crew, and the ability to man any post on the ship.

This meant that while it is fun to pilot and fly, nothing quite compares to pretending you are Luke Skywalker shooting down dozens of TIE fighters. The AI would take over control of the ship, letting you do your thing. Just remember not to get cocky, kid.
