Part Nine: Uprisings and Insurgencies

The Empire Reborn Movement came to light in the novel The Crystal Star (1994, Bantam Books). After having weathered the events of Dark Empire and the Jedi Academy Trilogy, the Solo children are in trouble again, a theme that would recur in their younger days. That novel unleashed The Power of Waru, a slab of meat the likes of which had never been seen before... or since. The Jaden Korr storyline is from the Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy video game (2003, LucasArts). The material that bridges this segment and the next, The Black Fleet Crisis was newly revealed in the original edition of The Essential Chronology (2000, Del Rey Books) and helped set the stage.

The Black Fleet Crisis trilogy began with Before the Storm (1996, Bantam Books). It and the books that followed, Shield of Lies (1996, Bantam Books) and Tyrant's Test (1997, Bantam Books) told the tales of Master Skywalker and the Fallanassi and The Teljkon Vagabond. The Uprising at Almania is entirely contained in the novel The New Rebellion (1996, Bantam Books). That book introduced the character of Brakiss, who would reappear later in the publishing timeline as a villain in a series of young reader books. The Imperial Skirmishes that follow were new material created for the first edition of The Essential Chronology (2000, Del Rey Books).

By the time of The Corellian Insurrection, the Solo children were old enough to seek out trouble rather than be the unwitting victims of it. This trilogy of novels that cover the event, The Corellian Trilogy, had the first book to explore the surface of Han Solo's homeworld in any detail. Consisting of Ambush at Corellia (1995, Bantam Books), Assault at Selonia (1995, Bantam Books), and Showdown at Centerpoint (1995, Bantam Books), the series was noteworthy for having introduced Centerpoint and Thrackan Sal-Solo, elements that would come to appear in eras both before and after this current one, and it also sealed the fate of Gaeriel Captison, but left alive a daughter who would return much later in the timeline.
